Uto-uto ba ako???

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Tanong: Sino ang pinakamabaet na estudyante ng Nursing?

Sagot: Edi mga 4th Year!

Bakit?

“Pag hindi mo ginawa yan, babagsak ka ng sampung beses sa Board Exam!!!”

Syempre, Ikaw ba naman isumpa, edi gawin mo na lang…
Mas Ok na maging uto-uto kaysa naman bumagsak.
Diba? Diba?

Gagawin lahat makapasa lang… NAKAKALOKA… hahaha!

*hindi pala kabaitan yun, natakot lang talaga. heheheh! Palakpakan…

P.S

More stories about that coming… :]

Why do we attend Simbang Gabi?

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

I still can’t believe that Christmas is just one sleep away…

I haven’t completed the Simbang Gabi… I have 4 absences… I was frustrated because I have completed it for 3 straight years already and God is really good because in all those years, He really made all my wishes happen.

From the 5 masses that I have attended, one homily that struck me most was when I attended the mass at UST Chapel. The priest said, We people are fond of doing things because of the things and the benefits we will get in return. We are always motivated to do something because we know that we will be rewarded.

He cited many examples that I know each of the people listening to his homily were being pinched in the heart because it’s the reality. However, the best example was “WHY ARE WE ATTENDING and TRYING OUR BEST TO COMPLETE THE SIMBANG GABI?”

Isn’t it we only want to see our crushes at the church?

Isn’t it something to brag about ?

or

Isn’t it that we have petitions and wishes that we want God to grant?

90% I believe were guilty and nodded their heads, including me. Each of us has our wishes that we want to come true and we ask God through this sacrifice, this novena, the Simbang Gabi.

I wish for the good of my studies, good health of the family, happiness of everyone I love, strength and motivation also for my studies and many more… Some wish for jobs, boyfriends, girlfriends and health… Seldom attend mass because they want to prepare themselves for the coming of Jesus Christ, which is the sad part.

From that homily, I realized that attending Simbang Gabi should be done for Jesus and not for our own good. Some of us may not want to continue attending if we happen to make an absence but then again, we should still do it in for the love of Christ. We should make ourselves worthy and make it as our gift to Him. May we always bear that in mind.

Two Faces of Christmas

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Hmmm… it’s been a while since I last blogged…

I was busy… —was… :]

December is a month, full of parties, get together, and happy times… I for once, had several parties with different groups of people. We celebrate for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We attend Misa de Gallo, Simbang Gabi or the 9 mornings. Children are singing their caroling from house to house. Students are grateful because of the long vacation— me included. People detoxify with all the stress and pressure we have had with our work or schooling. Everything’s alive and everyone’s happy.

They say December is also the time wherein family will bond as a whole and reunite with their other relatives. It is also the time that each one of us should have a “loved one” or “significant other” that we could share the holiday with. (A lot of people are like shopping for boyfriends and girlfriends this season…)

I know you are familiar with “SMP” or THE “Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko” wherein singles as well as those who are heart-broken belongs to that group. In addition, for those who had lost their loved ones, those whose families are not complete because of work, and because it’s just the way they are for some reasons— this Yuletide Season.

With all that instances, December has become both a source of happiness and a source of depression. (Plus the fact that it’s COLD… brrrr…)

For me, December has become a cliché with all those traditions and criteria people attach to it, — that “Christmas should be this and that” (I really hate that “thinking”). I believe it should not be the case. I mean, every Christmas is a new experience, a new beginning and a new life. We should not be stagnated with all the bitterness we once had in our lives when December approaches.

Why don’t we just be thankful with what we have and we are having, for we only live once, and so, we should seize every moment, be happy and at least try to change our attitude towards it whether we are complete or not.

Christmas is where people share, people love and people give.

I hope the spirit of Christmas is not just for December.

May it be in our hearts in each day the Lord gives us.

Superbowl of China’s new dishes…

Monday, December 8th, 2008

After my long day of duty as an Occupational Health Nurse (it’s just a “make-believe” LOL!), I immediately went straight to Trinoma because Yehey! treated the bloggers at SuperBowl of China… What a nice thing right? YEHEY!

The most important element of Super Bowl of China— Chinese food —-has enjoyed a long history of success in the Philippine setting. Dishes like Sweet and Sour Pork, Beef with Broccoli, Crispy Fried Chicken, Lemon Chicken, and Yang Chow Fried Rice have long endeared themselves to the Filipino palate. And so, SuperBowl of China introduced their new dishes beginning December 1, 2008 which are:

Crispy Mandarin Chicken- it is made of fried boneless chicken fillets drenched in mildly spiced Chinese Sauce, and served with Taiwan petchay on the side. This is my favorite of all the dishes served. Yummy!

Lechon Macau- it is a deep-fried crispy pork belly cutlets seasoned with select Chinese spices and served with Hoisin sauce on the side.

Seafood Chopsuey- it is cooked with assorted garden fresh vegetables with black and mixed mushrooms sautéed with fish fillet, shrimp, and other seafood. This is the dish I saw being prepared.

For the dessert, they have Tao Sa Pao. It is a sweet treat of fried siopao dough with black bean cream filling.

We also had a tour at their kitchen, meet their chefs and observe how their prepare these delicious dishes. There’s also a contest in which you will design your own bowl and here’s mine:

It’s good that they offer dishes which caters to all kinds of food eaters whether they are meat or pork lovers or vegetarians.
