Texas Roadhouse Grill, the first modern Western saloon in the Philippines, boasts of an extensive grill menu consisting of juicy imported U.S. steaks, tender ribs and chops, ocean-fresh seafood, all-time favorite chicken dishes and more.

Yehey gave bloggers a chance to dine in this great restaurant and served us with this delicious and mouth-watering dishes:

Jesse James Sampler

Whet your appetite with  Jessie James Sampler (P375.00) as a starter. It is a combination of Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Spicy Chicken (which I definitely love) and Fish Fillet. Together with 3 dips for each in which you can choose from. As for me, this appetizer will make you stuffed already.

The Great Ribeye

The Great Ribeye (P1,100.00)- the most sought-after in the menu, is a mouth-watering 10-ounce certified US steak. Steaks are prepared the way you like it: rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done. Whatever your preference is, meats are guaranteed to be tender and juicy. Side dishes include a combination of any of the following: Fresh steamed veggies, Corn on the Cob, Texas Rice or French Fries. Actually, 3 persons can share with this serving. HUGE!

Shrimp & Salmon Skewer

Other hefty option is the Shrimp and Salmon Skewers (P420.00)- It is served with 3 sticks of salmon skewers and shrimp squeezed atop with lemon together with Texas rice and assorted veggies as a side dish.

Mighty Oreo Mud Pie

You might want to finish your delectable meal with their sinfully delicious dessert which include their famous Mighty Oreo Mud Pie (P220.00)- It is an ice cream slash cake all in one. It is composed of 3 layers, 1st with coffee flavored ice cream, 2nd with chocolate and bits of caramel and 3rd with an Oreo cookie based, which is the best part of the dessert. This dessert is fun to share with 2 to 3 friends. You will personally enjoy sharing it as I enjoyed mine.

If you do like the ambiance of Westernized-Rodeo-Cowgirl/boy feeling, you will definitely get the good vibe and great food all in one stop. Throughout the restaurant, you’ll see framed cowboy photos, leather boots and other cowboy decor complemented by the warm lighting of lonestar lamps that make the place an inviting and cozy urban oasis to kick up ‘yer boots for lunch, snacks, dinner or drinks.

What’s more is that, there’s a bar that serves a wide array of drinks including its signature premium hand-shaken Silver Star Margarita. Its beer bucket is a steal at P260 for 6 local beers available all-day, all-night. There is also, where you can find their smoking area.

Talking about AH1N1 (the Second wave)

Friday, September 11th, 2009

It was June 2009 that the pandemic Influenza AH1N1 virus hit the Philippines. For months, Filipinos were scared because of its virulence accompanied by the intermittent weather that made individuals susceptible with this disease. With constant precaution such as:

Disease awareness (news, posters, ads)

Hand washing (Soap and Water/Alcohol/Hand Sanitizer)

P.S This is the OC-OC side of me, I always bring alcohol wherever I go…

Isolation and Quarantine

Thermal Scanning

P.S The first time I went back to FEU after months, I was nervous because the guards are checking the temperature and the night before, I had a fever. Good thing I was able to get inside and I was negative. LOL!

Immune System Boosting (Vitamins and Nutritious foods)

Avoidance to crowded places

P.S I think I was already exposed to the virus since I am always taking the LRT and during the outbreak, my friends and I went to the airport going to Palawan

Personal Protective Equipment (face masks)

The country was able to fight the Pandemic and served as an aid in increasing the people’s awareness to such health situations.

Few weeks ago, I was thinking about AH1N1 because it doesn’t make it to the news anymore unlike the previous months then, It was like I became a psychic or a coincidence that a few days after I thought about it, Department of Health (DOH) warned the Philippines about the possible second wave of Influenza AH1N1. It was said to be more virulent than the previous strain since it is also a flu season. DOH has been preparing and monitoring cases of AH1N1 present in the country.

For now, let us pray that we can surpass this disease and do our part in preparing ourselves in acquiring this virus. How? Just look above…:))

Nursing Board Exam Tips 03: During review hours…

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Your biggest enemy is of you BEING SLEEPY. DON’T FORCE YOURSELF TO REVIEW IF YOU DO, you’re just wasting your time. If you are sleepy during a review class, go out and stretch for a few minutes. I tell you, it is better than staying inside the room and ending up asleep the whole review session.

STAY AWAY FROM TEMPTATIONS/DISTRACTIONS = PRACTICE SELF-DISCIPLINE. If you have a seatmate or you are with somebody who’s asleep during review session, who’s not taking down notes, who’s not answering questions or just somebody who DOESN’T PAY ATTENTION. Please, do yourself a favor, distant yourself from them or at least help them by getting their attention and focus to the review. (This also applies to things/hobbies/vices/addiction etc.— you better know it.)

DON’T SKIP MEALS. According to studies, Breakfast gives you extended attention span, better understanding, analysis and retention. I can testify to that. In addition, when you are hungry, the tendency is you focus in your hunger instead of the lesson. You don’t want to knock-out your seatmate because of your morning breath. JK. LOL!

It is ok to review by group but the most helpful way to make that effective is to REVIEW BY YOURSELF FIRST so that you have your own idea and an overview of that certain topic in which you can share with your review buddies. In that way, after reviewing by yourself, you know what area to ask for help or to clarify.

APPLY WHAT YOU LEARN. Use the things you are reviewing in your daily life, or at least find a way. In that sense, you can easily remember and the chance you forget is at its minimum. Connect the medical terms, diseases, etc. to a person who best fit the description, yes I know it’s harsh but it’s better than not passing right? LOL!
