According to PRC, the Nursing Licensure Examination will be on July 3 and 4, 2010 and December 12 and 13, 2010.

The change of the schedule is in compliance with the Commission Resolution No. 2009-537 dated November 13, 2009.

With this news, BSN graduates will have ample time to review for the board examination. I can definitely say that this is a good news for everyone.

The application for July 3 and 4 2010 Nursing Licensure Examination is now on-going. Deadline for submission is on:

April 14, 2010 – Repeaters
May 14, 2010 – First Timers

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW RNs

Humans experienced technology at its best during Internet’s breakthrough. We can access everything in just one click. In contrast to the old times, wherein you really have to be physically there to actually know about what you want to know about.

The wonders of Internet have brought to us OLX. I actually had fun browsing and reading different ad placements in the Health Care section since I belong to the “unemployed nurse” status though I am currently studying after I graduated college. I am soooooo grateful I had the chance to have a photo with one of our National Scientists in the Philippines, Dra. Fe Del Mundo. Who is she?

• Filipino Pediatrician
• First woman admitted as a student of the Harvard Medical School
• founded the first pediatric hospital in the Philippines
• Known for having devised an incubator made out of bamboo
• National Scientist of the Philippines, the first Filipino woman to be so-named.

There are a lot of great stories about her works and service to the Filipino people, some unknown and some are yet to be known. I have talked to several staff nurses in her hospital and I knew that she is really an outstanding person and deserves everything she had accomplished.

Now, Dra. Fe Del Mundo is 98 years old, I had that picture taken because she conducted rounds in the hospital. She’s very beautiful and has good aura that day. I was very thankful and definitely thrilled. She joked “Dapat kung gaano kadami ang nagpapapicture ngayon sa akin, ganoon din ang pasyente natin…” we all laughed. The OB ward was benign that day but she really brightened our day.

P.S
The ward is still benign but I learned a lot, I made friends with the staff nurses and they are really very generous in teaching and sharing their experiences.

Next time, Dra. Fe will do rounds, I’ll have my photo taken with her, this time— Solo with autograph! hihi.

5, 845 Palatable Dishes with CHEESE!!!

There were 500 Chefs and 5,000 dishes in the event. Premier culinary school Magsaysay Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) contribute the most of the research and student manpower in the making of the event, with the added help of other schools such as Regina Carmeli, St. Paul University-Manila, Centro Escolar University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, La Consolacion College and Arellano University-Manila.

In the event, there were also contests that the following schools participated. The Grand winner for the Cheese Carving Contest is Centro Escolar University and Grand winner for the Noche Buena Cook-Off Contest is La Consolacion College.

There were a lot of YUMM-Y dishes and I wished I could taste them all! It was my first event with this kind of cause.

With that, I can say, Filipinos have the habit of making a HISTORY!

Zero In Peripheral exhibit is a theme of 5 museums in Manila which is composed of Lopez Memorial Museum, Ayala Museum, Ateneo Art Gallery, Bahay Tsinoy and Museo Pambata. Zero in Periphery is one treasure of knowledge, history and black box of our past that is documented by ordinary people and unknown heroes of the old Philippines.

For most of the people, it is a connotation that museums are only for kids but Zero in Periphery caters also to the “young at hearts”. It is good to have some trivia or nice-to-know facts that you can share your friends that were not taught to us in our formative years in schools.

I salute Zero in Periphery for bringing the biggest crater of Philippine history that was forgotten for centuries. I have gone to Museum Pambata and Ayala Museum and will definitely visit the other 3 museums.
